Miraj: A shocking incident unfolded at the Miraj Municipal Corporation’s Water Supply Department when pipe inspector Swapnil Awale was brutally assaulted with a stone. Following this attack, the Miraj City Police have registered a case against the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Ajit Pathrut, a resident of Miraj. In response to this violent act, municipal employees have strongly condemned the incident.
The assault took place amid ongoing preparations for the upcoming Ramadan Eid, during which the water supply department staff was diligently working at the Miraj divisional office to ensure smooth water distribution across the city. At that moment, Swapnil Awale was present at the office when an allegedly intoxicated Ajit arrived. In a fit of rage, he accused the officials of unnecessary theatrics before suddenly striking Swapnil on the head with a stone, leaving him seriously injured.

The sudden and unprovoked attack left Swapnil in a critical condition, prompting his colleagues to rush him to the Miraj Government Hospital for urgent medical attention. Subsequently, the Miraj City Police have booked Ajit Pathrut and initiated further legal proceedings against him.
