However, before iOS 18.4 arrives, reports suggest that Apple is working on another update—iOS 18.3.1. This minor update is expected to focus on bug fixes and security enhancements.
iOS 18.3.1 Update for iPhone
According to analytics logs shared by MacRumors, Apple is currently working on the iOS 18.3.1 update for iPhone, which is expected to be released in the coming weeks. While the update isn’t anticipated to bring major new features, it’s likely to include similar tweaks and improvements as seen in the iOS 18.2.1 update launched in January. The report suggests that these logs serve as a reliable source for tracking upcoming iOS updates.
The iOS 18.3.1 update is expected to address any bugs reported in previous versions, as well as include security patches for identified vulnerabilities. It may also build upon the changes introduced in the iOS 18.3 update. Notably, Apple had rolled back AI-powered Notification Summaries for News and Entertainment content after receiving criticism from the BBC over the inclusion of false information in AI-generated summaries. This update could further refine those adjustments.
In the meantime, Apple is also focused on the upcoming iOS 18.4 update, expected to launch in April.
